Dr. Mark Walker Dentist Federal Way, WA
Dr. Walker was born in the Dalles, Oregon and attended elementary school in Billings and Missoula, Montana. His early years were spent outdoors camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and skiing with his family and provided what he calls "the best childhood a kid could ever have!"
After his family moved to Washington in 1967 he spent most of his time pursuing football, basketball, and baseball in junior high and high school and later attended Central Washington State University to play basketball. Later transferring to the University of Washington where he received his degree in Chemistry in 1977. He started dental school that Fall at the University of Washington School of Dentistry and graduated in 1981.
Service and giving back to the community is also very important to Dr. Walker, he has traveled to Haiti many times over the years to provide dental care to the people of Port au Prince. Locally he has participated in the Seattle Center Foundation's Seattle King Clinic giving dental care to Seattle's disadvantaged and homeless as well as donating time to the Medical Teams International Dental Van in various location around Puget Sound.
Dr. Walker is a member of the American Dental Association and has served as the past chair of the ADA Council on Government Affairs as well as past president of the Washington State Dental Association and the Seattle King County Dental Society. He belongs to the Academy of General Dentistry, International College of Dentists, American College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He has been active in his community and has served on boards in his Church, Rotary Club and currently serves on the UW School of Dentistry Dean's Club Board.
Dr. Walker and his wife Barb are very proud of their sons Josh (a dentists at Meridian Dental Clinic in Kent) and Jeff (a fire fighter engineer in West Pierce). Outside of dentistry, he enjoys his five grandkids as well skiing, golfing and fly fishing. |
